an X for this date

October 4, 2008 at 11:26 pm (happy times, history) ()

i am about to leave college in less than a year given that i pass all rthe requirements needed.  only less than a year to make substantially blissful moments to look back to after i leave the academe.  but who cares? it’s the quality of the memories that matter, not the quantity.

It’ll be one of those days i’ll look back to, that’s a fact.  timezone, foodcourt, powerbooks, mercury.  kevin, louie, bryan, i.  basketball, air hockey, dance revolution, motorcycle race, car race, trivia questions, deal or no deal, ball throwing, hammer. squid, beef tapa, rice, porkchop, pansit, metaballs, egg, soup.

next time, let’s get intoxicated naman. :) ))

* * *where are the pictures, bryan einreb?

here comes the bride

May 9, 2008 at 2:52 pm (academic, happy times, history) (, , , , )

Bridal showers are one of the most jovial party a person can attend to.  I definitely immensely enjoyed the one I attended this afternoon.

I helped into putting together that party.  Hanged banderitas of nude guys, some even have peeping Joe, pics. I put together some things; I arranged foods (the most beautiful decoration in the party). Other decos were the blown second skin protection caps, lollipops patterned out of that celebrated male anatomy and one huge erection model of the most shared part of guys’ human body.  One look at the room and you’d surely suddenly miss your guy.

There was no prepared program. Everything was done spontaneously.  And spontaneity dictated that foods should be given attention first and foremost.  Lumpias were dipped, chopsuey was eaten with rice. Lechon once again made us prove that we humans are carnivores to a certainly high level.

Then came the most awaited part, the dessert of lollipops and cakes.  And they were no innocent sweets.  As described above, they were patterned from the initiator of carnal sins.  Laughter, jokes and lots of teasing followed.  The would-be bride took the first lick of the face of the erection, of course.

In the midst of cake eating, tips were issued to the bride.  Five valuable tips for a glorious trip to marriage-hood.  Five essential tips to ensure a blissful experience on the first nights.  Five crucial tips for a neophyte  Five starter tips for a novice who has yet to acquire experiences and own strategies.

always smell good-don’t show you’re tired-do it in several positions-“nail cutter”-“okoy”

It was really fun.  And I surely learned a lot.

i wanna be a tutubi

April 27, 2008 at 11:58 pm (academic, frisson, happy times, history, thoughts) (, , , , )

Leadership is a choice. This is one of the things imparted to me by the Junior Officer Leadership Training Seminar last April 25-29 2008. it is, of course, not an untapped topic for me being an Organizational Communication major. But it is always nice to be reminded of the things you know you know yet you do not remember all the time. Heck, it is a common knowledge that I allot only an iota of thought to acads, dear. Thus, this is not the focus of my blog.

Because there are far more better REASONS for the existence of this blog.

Like the unusual culture shock I felt when I was put in the midst of the hodgepodge personalities. PJMA, being a national organization [yes, mhan! National to , mhan, national], is a muddle of cultures of several ends. I say unusual here because the mixture is not of the common ones that I had already encountered. Funny may it seems that of my three years of mingling with people in the metro, this was my first time to communicate with students from Manila Central University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of East, San Sebastian College, San Beda University, and New Era University [for others not mentioned, sorry]. Another funny thing about this culture shock is that it wasn’t baaad. Mind you, I learned how to really think of what I was going to say to avoid insensitivity. I am not proud to say that I love to bash schools on some occasions [I am an iska, anyway (KIDDING!)]. Amazingly, though, the credit wasn’t fully mine because those when I started talking with them, othering was totally forgotten. They were really nice and pleasurable to chat with, either with intellectual chitchats or idle chismisan. These newness really culturally shocked me, that’s still the bottom line.

Activities were also clap-inducing. Not toxic yet sensible. Tiring yet enjoyable. Nakakaitim yet nakakatuwa. Thrilling and nakakabusog. Entertaining yet knowledge-providing. That candle task from Big Brother Louie and Big Sister Andrei was really nice. It added buckets of thrill to our training. Fortunately, we were able to do what they wanted us to do even though it wasn’t rated as success through and through because, unfortunately, the light died out for more than ten times. [thanks, Bry, for not making sumbong. haha!]. then I loved the adobo-cooking activity. It was really nice because I immediately went from average status to really useful one. mei and I was able to come up with a delicious mixture of ingredients named adobo. Mei manned the stove, I manned the ingredients. Woohoo!

But before the adobo-cooking show, we had this:

Them: May tiwala ka ba sa amin?

Me: Meeron.

Them: paano kung wala kaming tiwala sayo?

Me: [kunwari nagisip] may tiwala ako. [wanting to add ‘pakialam ko sa tiwala nio sa akin? Basta ako may tiwala ako ngayon sa inyo na di niio ako papatayin. Case-to-case basis ang tiwaala ko ee. <grin sa isip>]

Them: Sige nga, talon.

Me: <talon, talon, talon, talon>

Them: Sayaw!

In addition to that, I was asked to:

1. blindfold myself.

2. spit and eat candy that was supposedly dipped in saliva of us.

3. roll over lotsa flour

4. hold the bathroom bowl.

5. hold the supposed poo which was really a chicken part [yung kinuha mula sa aadobohin].

6. jump without knowing where I would land. And jump high, I did. Result? I stumbled down and acquired bruise on my hand and barely aching knee joints and elbow joints.

7. sunbath in the tennis court

8. drink the supposed spit of everybody which was really just egg white [ansama ng lasa].

9. receive a slap in the face

I told you, it was fun! Haha! Mind you,I didn’t want to look guarded and defensive so I was always striking a confident pose during all those ‘waiting’ time. Supermodel, cami. Haha! Biro lang. Anywho, alam ko na naman talaga yung gagawin and yung mga techniques and secrets ng ganitong initiation rites so I wasn’t a bit bothered. Heck, ako nga ang nambubully sa mga ganitong intiation rites.

I am now a member of Philippine Junior Marketing Association National Executive Board [PJME NEB]. I have the position of VP for Publication and Communications. No need to ask why. You know my course.

I get to have new acquaintances and friends. Tas me nalaman ako. Pero di ko sasabihin ditto. Nakakahiya. Akin na lang yon.

I learned a new song. It comes with a dance, too. It goes like this:

I wanna be a tutubi

Na walang itinatagong bato sa lupa

Na tinuka ng manok….

[darn, nakalimutan ko yung lyrics. Aalamin ko muna ulit.]

three days of fun and excitement. Three days of learning and self-growth. Three days was a short-time, though. I am excited to extreme level to work with you, guys! I cannot wait to start the school year with you.

I wanna be a tutubi

Na walang itinatagong bato sa lupa

Na tinuka ng manok….♥
